Gistweb - Supplemental Tools For Brainstorming Content

Unless you’re a very good writer, brainstorming for content ideas can be very time consuming. Sure, you could Google up your keyword related to your research, but as I said, it will consume quite amount of time which most of us don’t have (especially if you’re still doing your day job as I do).

For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been using Instant Article Wizard Pro for creating content on my sites. I must say, I’m very satisfied for what the tools can do. It basically cut my content research significantly and allows me to focus more on rewriting content. Basically you enter a keyword and the tool pulls out related snippet of  content.

While the Instant Article Wizard Pro is good, there are some people who prefer to use free stuff to do content research. Jon Leger, the creator of IAW Pro, recently introduced Gistweb. In my opinion, Gistweb is meant to be a downgraded version of IAW Pro and it’s design as a web based application instead of desktop, like IAW Pro.

How Does Gistweb Work ?

Using Gistweb was no brainer at all. The interface is quite simple. Just input your main keyword and it will pull out related snippet of content.

Currently, the tool works on two different algorithm, GistLite and GistPro. Here’s a quote on Jon’s explanation about the algorithm :

GistLite

GistLite is the original algorithm used by GistWeb to create the multi-document summaries.  It works well on a large variety of keywords.

Choose GistLite as the algorithm for your summary if your keywords are not likely to return a lot of textual content (e.g. highly commercial keywords).  GistLite will do a better job with more text (e.g. less commercial keywords), but if you do run keywords that are more commercial and less informational, try GistLite first.

GistPro

GistPro is far better at selecting what information belongs in the summary, and far better at organizing that information into groups of related material.  However, it does require that your keywords return documents that contain a good quantity of information (as opposed to ad text).

Conclusion

If you’re stuck on writing on certain topic, I highly recommend you try Gistweb to simplify your content research and you can focus on writing more content.

What about you ? What tools do you use to research content ? How much time does it take ? Please share your thought through your comment below.
