Yesterday, I received email from BlogCatalog, inviting current BlogCatalog users to join in a new program brought by their partner, JargonFish. The idea of JargonFish widget is to drive more traffic to your blog by cross-linking your content with other bloggers in the BlogCatalog network, by providing contextual ads very similar to Kontera Content Link.
The JargonFish application highlights keywords on your blog. When visitors click on those uniquely highlighted keywords, a small JargonFish window is launched providing the visitor access to related blog posts from other BlogCatalog members.
Well, since my site doesn’t use and in-text link ads, so I decided to give this widget a try. I’ll be testing this widget for a few days and see if it can drive traffic the way it’s claimed to be.
How about you? Have you tried JargonFish yet? How does it work out for you? Please post your comment!
Quick Dose Of Fact
JargonFish is actually offering a context link ad which is similar to Kontera Content Link. So if you’re more interested in making money rather and currently don’t have any context link ads, you can consider applying directly JargonFish, instead of using the BlogCatalog version.
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Hey thanks for giving us a try. We would love to hear your comments and suggestions. Thank you for the post Ditto
You’re welcome Justus. I’ll be monitoring the widget’s performance for around a week. I’ll post up the results once I’m done testing it. Please drop by again once I do :).
hey Ditto,
I’ve tried this widget too, right after I received the email. It’s been a view days, but I don’t know, I still haven’t found my traffic increases significantly, still very few visitors coming to my blog. But I’m still gonna give it a try for sometime, though.
What about yours?

As of this comment, my google analytics stats shows only 3 visitors that comes from JargonFish. While it may not be much, but the average time on site was quite long, 9 minutes. Which means these visitors from JargonFish was actually reading on my blog, unlike Entrecard dropper who’s on average only skims through my post.
However the pros and cons of this widget, I still have a few more days to finish testing the performance of JargonFish. Please drop by when I finish testing it :).
