What is a Trackback ?
A Trackback is one of three types of Linkbacks, methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking, and so referring, to their articles. Some weblog software programs, such as Wordpress, Movable Type, Typo and Community Server, support automatic pingbacks where all the links in a published article can be pinged when the article is published. How do I do a build reciprocal link using Trackback ?
One of the most the popular method - and of course my personal favorite and mostly used - is Link Love Post. Link Love Post is basically a type of blog post where you post on a certain subject then compliment it with a certain number of links on relevant post on other blogs. Basically after you publish your blog post, the linked blogs will be pinged.
If they accept the ping they will give you a trackback, since most people do still manually accept their comment and trackback since because they don’t want their blog to be target of spam and sping (spam ping), and your trackback will be credited in their trackback section as a link to your blog, thus giving you a reciprocal link.
How do I find blogs I should link on my Link Love Post ?
Well, there are 2 methods that I use :
- Search for it ! Use Technorati, Bloglines or Google Blog Search.
- Use Google Alerts. Slap in your keyword and subscribe to receive the fresh updated links delivered personally to your inbox
